“It’s rare for a theatre to produce a new play, so I’m incredibly grateful that Skylight is taking a chance on RORSCHACH. A play about inkblots? Yes. But at its heart it’s a love story about how we see each other, how badly we want to be seen for who we truly are, and how mysterious and messy and wonderful that can be.

We live at a time when we’re constantly looking at one another but not always seeing each other, and theatre gives us the chance to sit together, laugh together, and recognize something of ourselves in somebody else. I grew up in Los Angeles, so getting to make that connection here, live, with an audience, is especially meaningful to me. Playwrights need theatres that believe in them, and cities need theatres like Skylight.”
